Awakening

Youth has conquered. The pain has abated, the wounds are healing. A new and stronger desire to live stirs the soul of the soldier. With a heart full of gratitude he looks at the nurse who has watched him with the loving care of a sister during the long hours that preceded his convalescence. They both smile, a new life begins for both; more humane, nobler in every way.
